Norfolk Coast National Landscape Management Plan 2025-30

Consultation process

The Norfolk Coast is a special place – for wildlife and for the people who live, work and visit this area. We’re committed to protecting and enhancing this incredible landscape so that it continues to thrive for generations to come.

Over the past 18 months, we’ve been working with a wide range of partners, and stakeholders – including local authorities, Natural England, environmental organisations, tourism providers, local businesses and community groups – to write a new Management Plan for the Norfolk Coast National Landscape. This document sets out our priorities and ambitions for the area over the next five years.

The public consultation period for the Management Plan 2025-30 itself has now closed. Thank you to everyone who took the time to provide feedback through our online form or at one of our drop-in sessions – your insights are invaluable in guiding our work, and our draft plan has been updated accordingly.

The Management Plan has now entered a formal approval process, which will continue until the end of March 2026, and involves all local responsible authorities: Natural England, Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk, North Norfolk District Council, Great Yarmouth Borough Council and Norfolk County Council.

Alongside the approval process, we are carrying out the required Strategic Environmental Assessment and Habitat Regulations Assessment.

These two reports will assess the environmental impacts of the Management Plan 2025-30 and its potential impacts on the Norfolk Coast National Landscape respectively.

These reports are now open for public consultation (see documents to download below). Please tell us what you think by filling in our survey by 3 April 2026 at 23:59.
